Information for Group Visits at Launde Abbey01572 717254workGroup VisitsLaunde Abbey is an Elizabethan Manor House, built on the site of an Augustinian Priory founded in 1119. Within the House there is a beautiful Chapel thought to be all that remains of the original Priory Church. Some of its stained glass is mediaeval and Nicholas Pevsner has described the monument to Gregory Cromwell as "one of the purest monuments of the early Renaissance in England". The Chapel is used for daily worship by the resident community and guests, and is a great attraction for visitors.

From the M1 leave at junction 21 and follow the Leicester ring road southwards along the A563 and follow the signs for the A6 and A47. Launde Abbey is 14 miles east of the city of Leicester and is signposted in East Norton (just off the A47).
