Sally boat docked at Bosworth Marina

As the sun starts to shine, Bosworth Marina’s brand new day boat will be seen out and about on the lovely lockless and tranquil Ashby Canal. Starline Boats from Nuneaton completed the build of the 43 foot luxury stern cruiser ‘Harry and Sally’ during 2016 with a specification for easy access and the ability to accommodate a wheelchair.

‘The Ashby’ is a mostly rural canal on the outskirts of the lovely village of Market Bosworth. This canal, which has a section designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, is popular with first time boaters because it is lock free.

Places close to the canal that passengers are visiting include The Battlefield Steam Railway, Bosworth Water Park, Whitemoors Antique Centre and The Battlefield of Bosworth, together with cafe’s and pubs in some of the pretty villages on route.

‘Harry and Sally’ can carry up to 12 passengers or can be hired out with a steerer and take 11 people in comfort. She is available to hire for full or half days. Three hour short taster cruises are also on offer. On board are full facilities in the galley, roll up canopies, toilet, and has a heating and sound system throughout. Passengers will also be able to request tailored catering packages to suit their special occasion.

Chris Hubbard, Bosworth Marina’s manager, said ‘The marina which opened in 2014 has been a fantastic success story and our day boat is the latest addition. She will complement the new cafe’ which is due to open in early summer. We are all excited to have such a fantastic boat to hire, especially as it is disabled friendly’.
