Tourism Awards

Tourism businesses from across Leicester and Leicestershire will compete in the finals of the annual Leicester and Leicestershire Tourism Awards 2016 in November.

Over 100 applications were received for this year’s awards and 73 finalists have been selected including the some of the best restaurants, cafes, bakeries, tea rooms, pubs, hotels, B&Bs, glamping sites, conference venues, festivals and events, experiences and attractions, and markets in the city and county.

All finalists for the Leicester and Leicestershire Tourism Awards 2016, developed and hosted by Leicester Shire Promotions, will be shortlisted in one of four categories - great places to stay, great places to eat, fabulous things to do, and proud of our people. The awards will be presented at a gala ceremony at Athena in Leicester on 30 November 2016.

Details of the finalists and more information about the awards can be found at

Janine Williams, Deputy Chief Executive of Leicester Shire Promotions said: “For 2016, there are three new categories to reflect the broad range and diversity of the Leicester and Leicestershire tourism offer. As a result, we’ve had a phenomenal response to the call for applications and are now working with the judges on the extremely difficult task of selecting winners in each shortlisted category.”
