Date for the diary for all food lovers

There’s just one month to go to one of the UK’s largest regional food festivals in the UK when the Melton Mowbray Food Festival returns from 3-4 October 2015.

Now in its 12th year, over 100 exhibitors are expected to showcase some of the UK’s best locally-produced food and drink. The Festival is held at the Livestock Market on Scalford Road in Melton Mowbray, the town known as the UK’s Rural Capital of Food.

Visitors to this year’s Festival can sample not only the local, traditional Melton Mowbray Pork Pies and Stilton Cheese, but also a range of delicious foods such as delicious artisan cheeses, gold-infused bubbly, steamed puddings, gourmet British game, locally-brewed ales and many more, from the region and beyond.

Celebrity chefs, regional cooks, bakers and bread makers including Rachel Green, Linda Hewett, Stephen Hallam and Jo Pratt will be demonstrating a range of recipes in the Festival theatre.

A family food and fun area will keep the kids entertained as well as teaching them about food in a fun and interactive way.

The Festival is organised by the Melton Mowbray Food Partnership with support from Samworth Brothers, NFU Mutual, Bouverie Lodge and Melton Borough Council.

Tickets are priced at £6 on the day or £5 in advance from online or in person from Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe in Melton Mowbray. Children under 16 go free. For more details on the Festival, visit
