The first sponsors for this year’s annual Leicestershire Promotions 2017 Tourism & Hospitality Awards have been announced. Everards of Leicestershire, Leicester City Council, Leicestershire County Council and leading UK provider of fully integrated eTourism solutions, NVG will all be sponsoring individual award categories.

The awards ceremony will be held at Athena in Leicester on 30 November 2017. Everards is sponsoring the Great Place to Eat category, Leicester City County and Leicestershire County Council are jointly sponsoring the Proud of our People category, and NVG will be sponsoring the Best Website award.

There are 77 separate organisations shortlisted for this year’s awards including conference venues, visitor attractions, museums, cafes and restaurants, accommodation providers, festivals and events, and market towns. Details on the finalists can be found at www.goleicestershire.com/finalists2017

Stephen Gould, Managing Director of Everards, commented: “The hospitality and tourism within Leicestershire is first class; you'd be hard pushed to find a similar city with so much independence and atmosphere, and we are excited to be a part of it. It's great to see so many local businesses come together for these awards to support and celebrate the diversity within Leicestershire."

Sally Coleman, Strategic Tourism Manager, Leicester City Council & Leicestershire County Council, said: “Tourism generates more than £1.7 billion for Leicester and Leicestershire every year. We have many remarkable places to visit but it's people who can really transform the visitor experience through exceptional customer service or outstanding management and leadership. We are delighted to be sponsoring an award which recognises the importance they play in supporting this important local industry."

Ben Tagg, Managing Director at NVG said: “We're delighted to be supporting the LPL awards again this year.”

Martin Peters, Chief Executive of Leicestershire Promotions added: “We’re delighted to welcome these key sponsors on board for this year’s awards. The awards represent the very best of the local tourism industry and it’s great that the public and private sectors have recognised this quality through their support for the awards and categories.”
