The awards were judged by an independent panel of industry experts.

Martin Peters, Chief Executive of Leicester Shire Promotions said: “We had an unprecedented response in terms of applications for this year's awards. The quantity and quality of applications provided a real challenge for the judges and the selected finalists show that we really have a tourism industry of which we can be proud in Leicester and Leicestershire.

“We're particularly delighted to be able to present Stephen Hallam from Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe in Melton Mowbray with the Tourism Superstar award. Stephen's dedication and commitment to developing the food and drink offer in the town is outstanding and has resulted in a national profile that has attracted a great number of visitors from across the UK and internationally.”
