M1 Motorway

The M1, also known by the nickname 'gateway to the North' is the eastern north-south motorway, linking London to Leeds and continuing north to the A1.

Stanford Hall

Junction 19

Visit Stanford Hall and explore the rose gardens and the history of the 17th century house located on the banks of the River Avon. The park has been designated as a site of special scientific interest for its collection of rare lichen that grows in abundance.

The Chequers is a traditional village pub serving bar meals, catering for all ages including children's and vegetarian meals. Attached to the pub is a large garden with children's play equipment and toddler facilities available.

Junction 20

Kilworth House Theatre is an open-air theatre surrounding the Kilworth estate. Opened in 2007 in a beautiful wooded glade close to the lake in the ground of the Kilworth House Hotel, professional productions are seen here that are rarely presented outside the West End of London.

Enjoy professionally home-cooked food in the restaurant at Greyhound Coaching Inn, a charming 18th century coaching inn located in the south Leicestershire town of Lutterworth. The separate lounge bar serves real ale as well as a wide variety of bar snacks and full meals.

Junction 21

Fosse Shopping Park is home to over 30 stores, large ranges and the best names in fashion. If you're left feeling hungry after all the shopping, Fosse Food Court has a variety of food and drink shops available.


Just around the corner from Junction 21 is Grove Farm on the Grove Park Industrial Estate, serving delicious pub classics as well as a traditional carvery served daily. Even if you're too full for dessert, why not take home a slice of cake from the Cakeaway cabinet.

Junction 22

The Copt Oak is situated in Markfield, just a few minutes from Junction 22 and is the perfect choice for all dining occasions with a great traditional food menu to suit all ages.

The Coach & Horses is a family friendly pub serving quality pub food, locally sourced and in season where possible with a traditional Sunday Roast offered from 12 noon until 5pm.

Junction 23
