Leicester City vs FC Copenhagen

As Leicester City football club prepare for their second home Champions League game, the city of Leicester is going all out to welcome travelling FC København fans.

There will be greeters at Leicester train station giving out free maps and city centre guides with the city embracing the 'hygge' spirit too! The Après Lounge bar in High Street, with its wood-panelled walls, flickering candles and mulled wine, will be stocking up on Danish beer and The Cosy Club, in Highcross Street – will rename itself the 'Hygge Club' for the day.

Beyond the bars, Jubilee Square will be transformed into a pre-match FanZone for fans of both teams. Live music and a big screen showing highlights of Leicester City's title-winning season will provide the entertainment, with food and drink available from stalls and a licensed bar. A hog roast and heated seating areas will help create the 'hygge' spirit in the square too.

As the city's Diwali celebrations will be underway, Diwali Indian music and dancing will also feature in the programme. Street artists and stilt walkers in FC Copenhagen and Leicester City kits will help create a family atmosphere – and fans will be able to get their faces painted in their team colours, before they head off to the stadium.

The Jubilee Square fanzone will open at 12 noon on Tuesday to provide a pre-match meeting point for fans, but its big screen will not be showing the match. Fans without tickets for the game will be able to watch it live at BT Sport pubs in the city centre.

Visiting fans are encouraged to read Leicester City Football club’s guide for visiting supporters.
