Explore arts and culture in Leicestershire

Soak up the atmosphere of an exciting performance at Curve theatre and experience the visually awe-inspiring surroundings of this state of the art theatre. Head to De Montfort Hall where you can enjoy live music, comedy, pantos and dance or see the programme at the theatres in our market towns.

There are art galleries with contemporary art and pieces that feature local artists. New Walk Museum has an Arts and Crafts gallery with work from the Leicester born architect and designer Ernest Gimson and also embroidery pieces by Mary Linwood.

Our Arts and Crafts trail explores the Movement across Leicester and Leicestershire starting wih the cottage that was designed and built by Ernest Gimson himself and used as a holiday home for his family.  Stoneywell Cottage* is located in Charnwood Forest and has been restored and opened by the National Trust.
