Coach Parking Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to book for drop off/pick up only?

These do not need to be pre-booked, however you may still wish to fill out the form to request additional services, such as ‘meet and greet’, maps/leaflets, guided walks.

How long can I stay to drop off/pick up?

Drop off/pick up spaces are strictly limited to 30 minutes maximum stay. You may be issued with a penalty notice if you outstay this.

Do I need to book for parking?

Yes, all parking spaces must be pre-booked at least two weeks in advance. Please complete the coach permit application form, and return to Visit Leicester. This can be emailed to, or posted to Visit Leicester, 51 Gallowtree Gate, Leicester, LE1 5AD

How will I get my permit?

Once your booking has been confirmed your permit, and any other additional leaflets requested will be posted out to you.

How long can I stay for parking?

The spaces are available 24 hours a day. There isn’t a set criteria for length of stay, all requests will be considered, subject to demand/availability. Please fill out your requirements on the ‘coach permit application form’.

Do I need to pay?

No, all coach drop offs/pick-ups, and parking arrangements are free.

Where are the spaces?

Causeway Lane, Southgates, Granby St and Charles St North have dedicated set down/pick up points. Charles St South, and St Georges St offer parking, whilst Queen St offers both.

Are there any incentives for the driver?

We provide an information sheet, alongside voucher/discounts for their dedicated use. This will be posted out with your permit.

What does ‘the meet and greet’ service provide?

A Visit Leicester team member will meet your coach, provide a quick overview of the city, and hand out maps and relevant guides. They will be able to direct your passengers to their required destinations, and provide up to date information on events/attractions in the city. Please note; this is just a short welcome (approx. 5 minutes). Or, if you prefer, information can be sent out prior to your visit to maximise your time in the City.
