Theatre

Situated in the centre of Market Harborough adjacent to the Old Grammar School sits Harborough Theatre. With a wide range of stunning shows, plays and musicals including productions from The Market Harborough Drama Society, Octagon Films, and the Little Theatre Company the theatre offers something for everyone. Set in its historical building the theatre seats 118 visitors and delivers quality entertainment thoughout the year.

The Harborough Disitrict has a number of live entertainment venues. Plays and readings can be seen at the beautiful Cotesbach Educational Trust, Cafe Ventoux (the uk's number one cycling destination), The Oathill with its theatre in the garden, and Foxton Locks to name a few.

Harborough is also fortunate to be home to the Le Page Ensemble. The ensemble draws on the talents of this country’s most outstanding professional musicians who perform as soloists, chamber musicians and orchestral players all over the world. The Ensemble has gained a national reputation for thrilling performances of the highest calibre and is also establishing Market Harborough as an indispensable platform for Classical music in Leicestershire.

Theatre

The Kilworth House Theatre opened in 2007 in a beautiful wooded glade close to the lake in the grounds of Kilworth House Hotel Harborough. There’s a special aura and magic about open-air theatre so what better way to experience that magic than amidst the magnificent surroundings of the Kilworth estate, enjoying a professional production of a standard rarely seen outside the West End of London. The auditorium seats 550 visitors comfortably all providing a superb view of the stage. Magnificent sail-like canopies provide protection for the whole audience. Bar facilities and seating areas are provided and you can book a pre-theatre dinner or lunch in the hotel or bring your own picnic and enjoy the Kilworth estate. Private hospitality is available at the Staging Post, a stunning authentic log cabin conveniently situated next to the theatre.

Hotly anticipated, and in a setting of outstanding beauty, Nevill Holt Opera is home is the UK’s most unique and intimate opera theatre. Opened in June 2018, the new theatre has been praised in the press as an ‘indisputable triumph’ and hailed as ‘Britain’s best opera venue’. Designed by Stirling Prize winning architects Witherford Watson Mann, with theatre design experts Sound Space Vision creating the perfect acoustic Nevill Holt Opera with its established Summer festival and additional preformances throughout the year promises a truly magical experience for its visitors.
