Explore Charnwood Forest

Charnwood Forest is an area of rugged landscape, which lies mainly within Charnwood Borough but extends into the Hinckley and Bosworth Borough and North West Leicestershire District.

Walkers will enjoy the diverse landscape in Charnwood, woodland areas such as The Outwoods which is 110 hectares in area is one of the oldest woodland sites in Charnwood.  It has pathways through the wood which include an easy access route.  In springtime Swithland Woods has a carpet of bluebells and a Bluebell Service takes place each May.

For those that enjoy a more strenuous walk should head to Beacon Hill Country Park which is one of the highest places in Leicestershire.  The views on a clear day extend across several counties.
