Ian Drummond, Assistant Director, Transportation for Leicestershire County Council said, "Lovatt House provides a unique experience in that it really enables you to get away from a normal office environment and concentrate on your meeting. The service is excellent and the ambience helps make meetings work. A winter bonus is the proper railway fire!"
Lovatt House - the history of:
The building was constructed by the original Great Central Railway being completed in 1896, some 2 years before the coming of the railway. It is therefore thought that it would have been used by the contractor building the line for offices. Once the railway was opened, the building was used as the Goods Offices, and stands at the entrance to what was an extensive goods yard with sidings, stables and a weigh house.
Today sees a very busy suite of offices, conference, banqueting and meeting rooms; bookings for events, training, wedding breakfasts and celebratory suppers are coming in daily.
