Brian Blessed and Darth Vader Invade Leicester

"Gordons Alive!"... and well, living at the National Space Centre according to one of the special guests for the amazing Movie Mania event, Brian Blessed. Known for his sonorous voice and "hearty, king-sized portrayals", Blessed has appeared in such iconic movies as Flash Gordon and Star Wars.

Joining the special guests for this charitable event will be costume characters, including Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, Predator, Ironman, Wolverine, Batman, The Joker, Ghostbusters, Captain Jack Sparrow, Jedi and many more.

From the moment people arrive at the National Space Centre they will be in another world, the world of the Hollywood blockbuster. Visitors will be able to have photographs taken with their favorite character, join the Ghostbusters for a ghost hunt, learn some new pirate moves from Captain Jack Sparrow or help Batman defeat The Joker and his Goons.

In addition the Replica Prop Board team will be on hand with one of the UK's largest collections of movie accurate props and costumes, as well as finding out insider tips on making props of your own.

Workshops to produce movie special effects makeup will also be running, so visitors can discover the secrets of burns, wounds and prosthetics.
An indoor market of sci-fi toys, collectables and the down right quirky has been added for the first time this year, so visitors can also fit in some Christmas shopping.

Malika Andress, Head of Marketing at the National Space Centre said: "This will be the fourth Movie Mania event we have run and each one just gets better. We are over the Moon to be joined by Brian Blessed, as well as all the iconic movie characters. We have added lots of traders this year to make sure that visitors can make a start on their Christmas shopping as well."

The event is purely for charity, with all monies raised going to major charities, including Help 4 Heroes.
