Details

The Bradgate Park Trust is pleased to announce a new partnership with award winning photographer Danny Green.

Danny, who is based in Leicestershire, will be joining the Trust to help people explore capturing images of the deer rut that takes place in October. Having visited regularly, Danny's knowledge of the area is second to none and he will take participants to the best areas in search of deer, which will range from females with calves and large dominant stags fighting for their attention.

The workshop is a full day starting at 6am to capture the beauty of the Park and deer and will last until dusk. The cost of the course includes car parking and a late breakfast is provided at the Conservatory Tearooms. All photographic standards are welcome and participants in this small group (just six places per course) can be assured of individual tuition. As the course is working with the Trust people will also have the opportunity to visit Sanctuary areas with Danny, which is not possible with other courses, providing a unique experience.

Danny said, “I became interested in nature from a young age and was very rarely at home, always out looking for wildlife. Bradgate Park has always been a favourite place to visit and over the last 25 years I have captured many magical moments in the Park. These workshops are timed to coincide with the annual Red and Fallow Deer rut which will have reached its frenetic peak. The walking is relatively easy and not long distances but could involve walking over uneven ground for the deer. A 300 mm telephoto lens or longer is required and also a sturdy tripod, but the day is suitable for beginners too.”

Based at Bradgate Park in Leicestershire, these workshops are designed for the discerning photographer in many ways. Whether you are a complete beginner looking for a helping hand in starting out or an experienced amateur that wants to work on a few techniques. Places must be booked by contacting the Bradgate Park Trust Estate Office for a booking form on 0116 2362713.
