Jubilee Wood
Jubilee Woods was so named to commemorate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977. There is a phased forestry programme to replace the commercial tree plantation and restock with species native to Charnwood. This will improve the wildlife value of this site of scientific interest and create a seamless join with the adjoining SSSI’s; Outwood, Hangingstone Hills and Beacon Hill. There are rough, informal paths around this regenerating woodland with rocky outcrops. Parking and access is available from neighbouring Outwoods or from Woodhouse Lane.
