Great Central Railway

The Great Central Railway is Britain's only double track main line steam railway. Train rides are available every weekend and Bank Holiday throughout the year and daily in May through to September. Loughborough Station houses a museum, working signal box and an historic locomotion collection.

Hire a portable handset and plan a route around the railway and it’s stations finding out more about the history of the line, what happens behind the scenes and unlock some of the surprises about how it operates.

You can even drive a steam train under expert supervision.

Or choose to dine in style and enjoy a sumptuous 4 or 6 course meal while travelling by steam train.

There is a passenger lift for use by disabled and infirm visitors and also a wheeled access toilet.

All day, second class tickets: Adults £14.00, Adult return £12.00, Children £9.00, Concessions £12.00, children under 5 years go free (price does not apply to special event days). Family tickets (2 adults and 3 children) £32.00. Family (1 Adult & up to 3 Children) £22.00

Handsets cost just £2.50 to hire from the booking office at Loughborough. Please ask when you buy your ticket.
