With Spring in the air, and British Summer Time just around the corner what better time of year to make the most of Leicestershires glorious outdoors than with long walks across rolling countryside, horse riding through idyllic landscapes or a trip along tranquil, meandering waterways.
You will be surprised at all of the amazing activities that you can do at the National Forest! From lakes, discovery centres, wildlife, castles, stately homes and, of course, miles of woodland - with events such as the Wood Fair there is definitely plenty to keep you and the whole family entertained.
Leicestershire's country parks offer a haven for lovers of the great outdoors.
While away the hours at Bradgate Park and Beacon Hill, where you can explore acres of Leicestershires countryside with bracken, rocky outcrops, small woods, herds of deer and the River Lin. You can either take in the scenery with a leisurely walk, get rambling, or bring along your bicycle.
Better still, keep all the family entertained - bring along a picnic, your wellies, fishing nets, kites and go hunting for conkers. If you're feeling artistic you could even bring along your camera or sketch pad and take home a piece of Leicestershire's countryside.
