Friday
4pm Arrive at the accommodation of your choice
6pm Brewery Tour and Dinner at Belvoir Brewery (ring in advance)
Why not get a taste of Leicestershire at Belvoir Brewery. Find out how ales such as Peacocks Glory, Beaver Bitter and Gordon Bennett are made with a brewery tour. After your tour, enjoy a hearty meal of locally produced food, and of course your own pint of ‘Gordon Bennett'.
Saturday
9.45am Explore Melton Mowbray Town Centre - top tip: head to Dickinson and Morris Pork Pie Shop where you can find out the history of the world famous Melton Mowbray Pork Pie.
11.30am Depart Melton Mowbray
12pm Lunch at The Grange Garden Centre and Alpine Restaurant
Head to this wooden ‘ski' lodge in the heart of Leicestershire's countryside. With a large selection of main course dishes to choose from including succulent locally reared meats, chicken specialities, homemade beef burger, Melton Mowbray's pork pie along with freshly prepared beer battered fish and a tasty choice for vegetarians.
Once you have enjoyed your lunch visit Brockleby's Farm Shop, within the grounds of the garden centre, where you can buy your own selections of locally produced goodies!
1pm East Midlands Food and Drink Festival, Brooksby Hall (2nd-3rd October 2010)
Enjoy all things food and drink at this local festival which celebrates gastronomic delights such as Melton Sloe Gin, Melton Mowbray Pork Pie, real ales, Asian cuisine and so much more. A must-visit for all you foodies out there!
5pm Return to Hotel
In the evening why not give your tastebuds a treat and head to one of the restaurants or pubs in the area and get to taste some locally produced food and drink.
Sunday
As it's Sunday, you can kick back and enjoy a relaxing day taking in the rolling landscapes of the countryside in this area - why not head to Burrough Hill and take in the views of Leicestershire from this Iron Age Hill Fort... you could even take along a picnic brimming with Leicestershire goodies!
