Leicester City Football Club fans

The entire football world has been talking about the exploits of Leicester City Football Club on their journey to winning the English Premiership season as champions for the first time ever. The whole city and county has cheered them on their way.

On the same night that Leicester City were declared champions, snooker world number one, the 'jester from Leicester', Mark Selby was crowned world champion after winning the final at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre.

As well as Leicester City, we are home to the legendary Leicester Tigers, the best-supported and most successful club in English rugby with 10 English league titles and back-to-back European crowns.

Leicester Riders recently clinched the BBL Championship in front of a capacity crowd at their new £4.8m Leicester Arena home in the final game of the season. It is the second time in four seasons that the Riders have topped the British Basketball League standings at the end of the regular season.

The roll of sporting honours continues with Leicestershire County Cricket Club - three-time winners of the national Twenty20 Cup, and not forgetting snooker player Mark Selby, ranked number one in the world as he wins the World Snooker Championship 2016.

With all of this sporting success, history and heritage, there’s so much to see in Leicester and Leicestershire for sports fans.
