"It is the Jewish soul that interests me ... the freshness and naiveté of the Patriarchs; the violence of the Prophetic books; the Jewish savage love of justice…” Ernest Bloch
Join us for celebration of music influenced by the Jewish soul with music from composers as diverse as Ernest Bloch, Maurice Ravel, Aaron Copland and Steve Reich. The programme includes Ravel’s 'Deux Mélodies Hébraïques', Ernest Bloch’s 'From Jewish Life' and Steve Reich’s incredible 'New York Counterpoint' for amplified clarinet and tape. The Jubilee Hall is transformed into an atmospheric 'jazz style' venue for this concert with candlelit tables and a bar.
Dave Le Page (violin), Stuart King (clarinet), Elena Hull (bass) and Clare O’Connell (cello).
The Harborough Collective was formed in 2010 by David Le Page, one of the UK’s most sought-after violinists and a former pupil of the Yehudi Menuhin School.
