Pub reopens it's front door after 50 years!

The Red Lion Pub

In these difficult trading times and whilst, on average, 25 pubs per week close (1 in Great Bowden and 1 in Nasby since Christmas) one village hostelry has decided to buck the trend and really take on the town pubs.

The Red Lion at Sibbertoft is an independent privately owned free house offering a comfortable cosy village atmosphere, wood burners, real ale, great wines and 'proper pub grub at right proper prices'

Andrew Banks proprietor said 'We wanted to open the front door to show people we are open 7 days a week and make it attractive to all walks of life. Customers have been in remembering when they came through the door as children with their parents, at least then they didn't bang their heads, it is a very short old style door.'

'Our regulars have been very complimentary about our refurbishment and we have seen an immediate effect on footfall, long may it continue so we are not one of the statistics of village closures'

The Red Lion is open Monday to Friday from 5 pm, lunch and dinner on Saturday and 12-6 pm on Sunday.

Booking advisable with Andrew or Sarah on 01858 880011
