Battlefield bus takes to the road
Following the Richard III trail is being made easier - thanks to a special shuttle bus between Market Bosworth and Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre.
The transport is being arranged by Leicestershire County Council to help people join in the week-long series of events marking King Richard III’s reinterment.
The bus will run between 23 and 28 March, and will take people from Market Place to the county council-run Bosworth Battlefield and Heritage Centre in Sutton Cheney.
Run by Roberts Coaches, the bus will be wheelchair accessible, cost £5 for a return journey and will link in Arriva’s 153 Leicester to Market Bosworth service and Roberts' 159 Coalville to Hinckley service.
The service will extend into the early evening on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to allow passengers to attend the early-evening talks.
Information about the timetable is available at http://www.robertstravelgroup.co.uk/info/bus-information or by calling 01530 816 425.
The events at Bosworth include:
• Daytime and early-evening talks, including The Road to Bosworth and what led to the battle;
•Battlefield tours to the likely site of King Richard III’s demise in battle;
•What Remains of Richard III? - a play about King Richard III’s reputation;
•Book launch by historian John Ashdown-Hill;
