Twycross Zoo hosts unforgettable birthday parties
From animal encounters to games in soft play, there is something for every birthday boy or girl at Twycross Zoo in Leicestershire. Little ones can run wild in the zoo’s special birthday party areas, meet some of the zoo’s cuddly pets, or even go on a guided tour. A flexible offer allows parents to pick and choose from various options to make their child’s birthday party a day to remember.
Young animal lovers will never forget pets visiting their party in the zoo’s birthday den. Three different pets from rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats and snakes will join in the celebrations, under the watchful eye of the zoo’s keepers and provide an unforgettable experience for everyone.
Those who prefer a fun celebration full of classic games can play giant Jenga and pass the parcel, as well as enjoying a special visit from a costumed character. The zoo also hosts birthday parties in its jungle-themed soft play area, which invites children to burn off some of their energy in the ball pits and slides.
Children can also get a deeper insight into the inner workings of the zoo on a guided tour; share a tasty birthday cake in the shape of a butterfly, monkey or elephant with their friends; or take home a party bag full of great gifts suited to the children’s age. Each party guest is given a lunch box, complete with an animal mask, so great fun is guaranteed at any birthday party at Twycross Zoo.
Sharon Leeson, Director of Marketing says, “We have two lovely venues here at Twycross Zoo where children can have fun and celebrate their birthday in a unique way. Our staff take pride in making sure that all the party-goers have a great time and return home with some very special memories to treasure. By holding a child’s birthday party here at the Zoo, parents are also giving their child and their friends a fantastic opportunity to learn about the animal world.”
Aside from celebrating with friends, young visitors to the zoo can go spotting many of Twycross Zoo’s animal babies and youngsters. One of the most famous ones is bonobo Ndeko, who will celebrate his first birthday at the end of July. Only a year older is the elephant Esha and Storm, one of the gibbons who have only recently moved to the new Gibbon Forest, joins the ranks of the three year olds. Other young birthday boys and girls among the zoo’s animals include gorilla Lope (4), giraffe Setanta (5) and orangutan Molly (6).
