New exhibitions at Harborough Museum

Two new exhibitions celebrating Leicestershire history have opened at Harborough Museum.

Visitors to the museum, in The Symington Building, Adam and Eve Street, Market Harborough, are invited to learn more about Leicestershire self-taught artist John Flower, and the town’s tradition of Baking and Sewing in Harborough.

The John Flower display includes prints and drawings by the 19 century artist as well as items showing what life as an artist would have been like for him.

Meanwhile, a liberty bodice, designed in Market Harborough in 1908, has been given a modern makeover and features alongside a W.Symington & Co. factory recipe book as part of the Baking and Sewing exhibition.

Both exhibitions will be on display until June 27, 2015, admission to the museum is free.
