Make your own chocolate at ChocFest workshops
Visitors to the first-ever ChocFest event in Melton Mowbray will get a chance to make their own handmade chocolate at three different, experiential workshops over the weekend of 19-20 November 2016.
Leicester-based Cocoa Amore, an award-winning chocolatier, will be conducting a series of workshops at ChocFest on the art of making handmade chocolates. There will be four workshops on Saturday and three on Sunday including:
• Making Chocolate Lollies
• Chocolate Tastings
• Making a Chocolate Wreath for Christmas
The workshops will last around 40 minutes, costing just £5 and can be booked in advance at www.cocoa-amore.co.uk/choc-fest (children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult).
Pete Gardner, Director of Cocoa Amore said: "As an industry, we don't have any events like ChocFest in the Midlands and national events are few and far between. ChocFest will be great exposure for chocolatiers and local producers of chocolate products.
"Our workshops will be cost-effective taster sessions for the more comprehensive sessions that we hold at our outlet in Leicester. Visitors will get to try different chocolates from across the cocoa belt and from around the world, and make products to take away with them for Christmas presents or to eat on the way home!”
ChocFest is a festival of all things chocolate with tastings, demonstrations, talks, workshops and plenty of chocolate and associated food and drink to buy from some of the UK’s best local producers. Other exhibitors will be selling chocolate-related products including cakes, liqueurs, macaroons, drinks, biscuits and desserts plus other stalls selling wine, champagne, cakes, pies and cheese.
Matthew O’Callaghan from the Melton Mowbray Food Partnership, organiser of ChocFest 2016 added: “We are delighted that a local, artisan chocolatier such as Cocoa Amore is able to join us and impart their knowledge of making handmade chocolate. With Christmas coming up, this could be a great opportunity to make your own chocolate for presents!”
ChocFest will take place from 10am to 5pm on Saturday 19 November and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday 20 November at the Melton Mowbray Cattle Market, Leicestershire LE13 1JY.
Admission is £4 and children under 16 are free. Tickets will be available on the gate.
