GLAMPING WITH THE STARS
The National Space Centre, the UK’s largest attraction dedicated to space, is taking the team on tour to host family friendly Astro Camps, under the stars at Leicestershire locations. Combining workshops, artefact handling, rocket build challenges and stargazing sessions, the event has been created for enthusiasts, novices and the curious, to enjoy astronomy and science, in an outdoor environment.
Their first destination is the multi award-winning Dandelion Hideaway. The Dandelion Hideaway is set in rural Leicestershire. They opened in 2011 to offer the ultimate glamping experience, with six spacious canvas cottages nestled into the idyllic countryside on Osbaston House Farm, offering fun for families of all ages.
An afternoon and evening packed with family challenges, including launching an egg and returning it safely to the ground, as well as discovering the tastes and smells of space, will be hosted for families booking to stay for two nights in new levels of luxury for Glamping.
Malika Andress, Head of Marketing at the National Space Centre said; “We are really excited to be working with The Dandelion Hideaway to create something really different for families to enjoy. It is a stunning setting, with lots of space to get dark skies for looking at the stars, as well as huge rocket launches in a safe environment. Creating a one off Astro Camp for just 36 people has been great fun, we can spend lots of time making sure every single visitor gets something really special from the experience.”
Astro Camps will run on 6 June at The Dandelion Hideaway, giving visitors more time to enjoy the other facilities on offer on this picturesque dairy farm, including the complimentary programme of hands-on activities, including hen keeping, milking goats and grooming Shetland ponies, to make this holiday a unique experience.
