Celebrate Christmas at Twycross Zoo
Combining fun and education, a Christmas Trail will encourage children to explore the zoo and enjoy some winter fresh air. The tasks in the Christmas Trail will help Santa to rectify mistakes made by “Merry the Elf”, such as delivering gifts to the wrong animals. In the beautifully themed Grotto, where the true Christmas atmosphere comes to life, children can tell Santa how much they have helped him and share their wish lists. Each child will receive a quality animal-themed gift, a professional souvenir photograph and a voucher for free admission to the zoo when accompanied by two full paying adults, an offer which extends until the end of January 2016.
The zoo’s Himalaya restaurant also joins in the Christmas celebrations with a seasonal menu including traditional roast turkey, Christmas cake or reindeer cookies. Elves and Santa will be attending breakfasts every weekend in December and on the four days before Christmas Day. In addition, Santa will attend the Friday 18th December supper combined with one-hour admission to the soft play and the Zoo’s Windows on the Wild venue will also host three Christmas Sunday lunches.
Sparkling with festive lights and decorations, Twycross Zoo is a magical place to enjoy the excitement of Christmas and visitors will be able to look after the well-being of Santa’s reindeer if they buy a £1.00 bag of unique reindeer food. Not only will it help guide Santa to their homes on the 24th December, but the proceeds will also help “real” animals by supporting Twycross Zoo’s conservation work, both here in the UK and overseas.
Twycross Zoo is open to the public from 10.00 to 17.00. The zoo is closed on Christmas Day.
