Welcome to Melton Mowbray, rural capital of food, famous for Melton Mowbray Pork Pies and Stilton Cheese.

This heritage trail will show you a thousand years of history including the places and people that made the town what it is today. You can explore parkland, visit cafes, buy cheese or pork pies and visit Melton Carnegie Museum which features excellent exhibitions on the history of Melton Mowbray and the surrounding area.

The trail offers visitors a suggested tour around the heritage sites in Melton town centre.

The route is accessible for all and facilities are available along the way. The tour begins and ends in the town centre and can be started at any point and you can easily navigate back to where you started from using the map.
