Travelling by Car
Leicester is 2 hours by car from London, 1 hour from Birmingham and 2 hours from Manchester. The M1 passes through Leicestershire, with Junctions 20-24 providing good access to the county. Travelling by Train
Leicester is on the Midland Mainline from London St. Pancras to South Yorkshire. Direct trains from London take 75 minutes. Central Trains also provide regular services from Birmingham (50 minutes), and from the east and west of the UK. Market Harborough, Loughborough, Melton Mowbray and Hinckley all have railway stations. The nearest station to Ashby de la Zouch is Loughborough. Travelling by Coach
National Express offer national coach services to Leicester. London to Leicester takes just under 3 hours. Ashby de la Zouch, Coalville, Kegworth, Market Harborough, Loughborough and East Midlands Airport are also served by National Express.
Travelling by Air
East Midlands Airport is based in North Leicestershire, near Castle Donington and is just 30 minutes by car from Leicester. Birmingham International Airport is 45 minutes by car from Leicester.
Visitors travelling to and from East Midlands Airport and Leicester, can take the direct Leicester Skylink bus, getting you there in less than an hour. This service operates hourly during the day and for most hours during the night. Tickets cost £6 for an adult or £10 to include all zones covered by Arriva Midlands.
