Set in the heart of Leicester's Cultural Quarter, Phoenix is an independent cinema, digital arts centre and café bar. A charitable organisation, Phoenix aims to bring inspirational film and art to all.
Phoenix shows a broad cross-section of the best in world and independent cinema, including new film releases and classics, work by local film makers, archive and heritage film, lectures and talks. We also offer international theatre, ballet and opera streamed live by satellite.
As technology becomes a bigger part of our everyday lives, digital art offers new ways of looking at the world; Phoenix curates a digital art programme which includes exhibitions, talks and events taking place in our own Cube gallery, across Phoenix and beyond.
Our popular cafébar is open daily and serves fresh, locally-sourced food, world wines and local ales. It’s a fantastic place to meet with friends and enjoy a few drinks, lunch or an evening meal.
