The Great British Festival of Pies – Saturday 11th March 2017
The Great British Festival of Pies is the grand finale of British Pie Week and the acclaimed British Pie Awards where some of the best pie makers in the country will be hoping to be crowned Supreme Champion.
The British Pie Awards have become an institution for pastry-connoisseurs country-wide and the annual event sees hundreds of pie-makers gather for a celebration and competition of this British culinary favourite.
On Saturday 11th March, award winning pie makers will have the opportunity to sell their pies at the festival and display their certificates awarded at the British Pie Awards Ceremony on Friday 10th. Melton Market Place will become a pie lovers dream giving you the first ever opportunity to sample and buy the 2017 winning produce all in one arena. The winner of the Supreme Champion 2016, A.F. Huddleston Butchers will also be showcasing his Beef Skirt & Vegetable Pastie.
There will be live music, dancing and street entertainment alongside some great locally brewed ales to accompany a hot pie and pie lunch!
