Caribbean Carnival - 7th August 2010
Come and celebrate the 25th year of the Caribbean Carnival in Leicester. This year's theme 'Celebrating our Caribbean Heritage' was chosen to reflect the history of the festival and its development over the years. Carnival Day activities begin with the official opening at 1pm, Victoria Park.
Colourful costume parades, big bass sound systems, spicy cooking and an all day party in the park. It can only mean one thing - the Caribbean Carnival is in town!
On the first Saturday of August, Leicester's Caribbean Carnival treats you to a vibrant parade of carnival costumes through the centre of Leicester. With Caribbean dancing, bass thumping sound systems, tasty treats experience a piece of the Caribbean in Leicester. Don't forget to stay until the sun has gone down and head to a carnival after party.
