Chief Executive
Martin is Chief Executive of Leicester Shire Promotions Limited, the Destination Management Organisation for Leicester, Leicestershire and the National Forest. Martin has over 25 years experience in tourism, inward investment and place marketing. Having worked for both the public and private sectors he is able to understand and recognise the advantages and challenges of both.
On a national level, Martin is a former Chairman and Director of the British Association of Conference Destinations and a founder of the British Cities Marketing Board, an organisation he Chaired for a number of years. In 2011 he was pleased to be asked by Visit England to act as Vice Chair to their Destination Management Forum.
Formerly Director of Operations, Martin has been with the company since its inception in 1993. His contributions to the tourism industry were recognised in 2006 when he was invited to become a fellow of the Tourism Society.
