Bringing your group to Melton

Melton Mowbray is a quintessential English market town, and prides itself on the facilities and opportunities available to groups.

Many local businesses in Melton have created tours and demonstrations aimed specifically at groups.

Pork pie

Learn about the fascinating history of why Melton Mowbray became the original home of the pork pie at Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe, where Dickinson & Morris have been baking pork pies since 1851. They are now the oldest and only remaining bakery producing authentic Melton Mowbray Pork Pies in the town centre. Bring your group to watch a demonstration of hand raising a pork pie, sample their unique taste or even book a full session where everyone makes their own pie.

Enjoy a pre-arranged group session at The Melton Cheeseboard has the widest range of cheeses in the county with over 150 different varieties, many sourced in Leicestershire and surrounding counties. Knowledgeable staff will offer your group samples in an extremely tasty tasting session.

Established in 1995, Belvoir Alehouse has been growing and expanding as a company by producing award winning ales which include Beaver Best Bitter, Old Dalby Strong Ale and the world famous Blue Brew which contains the whey of Stilton Cheese. CastleWith guided tours available around the working Brewery, you can learn about the history of the Brewery and follow the beer from the mash tun to the ale store.

Belvoir Castle welcomes all coach and group tours, as you can take a journey through time at the home of the Duke of Rutland's family. You and your group can also discover the beautifully established gardens on a variety of walks and trails that are new for 2016.

Melton Mowbray Food Festival is one of the largest regional food festivals in the country, taking place in the UK's Rural Capital of Food at the Cattle Market in Melton Mowbray each October. Enjoy a full programme of talks and demonstrations at the professional food theatre, whilst children have their own dedicated family fun area where they can learn about food with practical hand experiences.

ChocFest is a  festival of all things chocolate, ranging from cakes to liqueurs, as well as loads of other stalls selling wine, champagne, pies and cheeses. Taking place in November it includes tastings, demonstrations and discussions all about chocolate.  Book your group onto a workshop where you can make your own chocolates in time for Christmas!
