Friday 28th until Monday 31st July

Harborough by the Sea, the annual family event, is taking place this year from Friday 28 to Monday 31 July.

2017 is set to be the biggest and best yet with giant sandpits, live music, a classic car show, entertainment, loads of activities, food and drink.

There will be a vintage theme across all 4 days of the event, with the clock turned back to the 50s and 60s – it will be historic.

The popular event is delivered by Harborough District Council with support from a number of sponsors.

Launch event

The 2017 event is kicking off in swinging 60s style with a launch party in The Square in Market Harborough from 5pm on Friday 28 July. A full evening of entertainment will include fantastic live music from well known band the Revolvers who will be playing 60s classics, a beer and wine tasting tent, and hot food. Dig out your sixties outfits and join us for the evening and maybe show off some your 60s dance moves with a twist, some mashed potato and a hitch hike.

Saturday and Monday

The giant sandpits on The Square take centre stage on Saturday and Monday. Children love playing in the sand and the adults enjoy watching their little ones from the authentic deckchairs.

But there’s a lot more to the days than sandcastles and knotted hankies. Both days will feature live music, crafting activities, Punch and Judy shows, historic trails and exhibitions in the Harborough Museum.

And after you’ve done exploring the classic cars you can relax and enjoy the giant sandpits, music, activities, exhibitions, food and drink stalls.
