This September the Edible Forest Festival returns to the ancient woodlands of Charnwood Forest! We’ve got such a packed programme that we’ve added more dates!


Between 9th-16th September 2018 enjoy amazing food and drink experiences in unique locations across Charnwood Forest. Enjoy time with the family at the Forest Food Adventures, take afternoon tea in the iconic Old John Tower at Bradgate Park, experience the unique Forest Pods, savour a forest inspired gourmet dining experience at Mount St Bernard Abbey and much, much more!

Forest Funk

Forest Funk

Saturday 15th September

Get your dancing shoes on standby! Get down and get funky at our Forest Funk night.

Set in the ancient woodland of Charnwood, enjoy a DJ spinning hip hop, soul and R&B tunes and dance in to the small hours. We’ll make sure you’re fed and watered with Charnwood Cider and venison (and veggie) burgers & hotdogs.

Family Forest Adventure

15th & 16th September 2018

Grab the family and start your forest adventure. Enjoy a weekend of family forest food adventures where you and the family can take part in woodland inspired workshops and lots of other outdoor fun activities!

To round off your adventure, you and the family will get to toast marshmallows around our camp fire!

Forest Dining Pod Experiences

Sunday 9th - Sunday 16th September

Join us for a very special experience – take brunch, a picnic or supper in our forest dome nestling in the grounds of Abbots Oak. Book a couple of tickets and make new friends round our communal table or book the whole pod for your exclusive use. Either way be quick – this has never been offered before and will sell quickly!

Exclusive Edible Forest Afternoon Tea Experience

Wednesday 12th – Saturday 15th September

Sir Matthew Ingle Joyce and Lady Miriam Bertha Joyce cordially request the pleasure of your company to take afternoon tea at their Charnwood Forest country residence. This unique experience will include a selection of hand crafted lady's and gentleman's afternoon tea, sourced from local ingrediants and reflecting the Lord and Lady of the manor's traditional tastes.  An experience not to be missed!

Safari Supper

Thursday 13th September 2018

Our 1968 Redland bus took us on a journey around the ancient Charnwood Forest on our unique Safari Supper. This experience started at the Griffin Inn at Swithland, followed with a trip around Charnwood Forest to the White Horse in Quorn for a locally sourced dinner and then for our mouthwatering dessert the coach took us to the Waterside at Mountsorrel and then back to The Griffin, Swithland for a nightcap.

Secret Gourmet

Sunday 9th September

This year's gastronomic dining experience with a forest-inspired menu created by renowned local chefs John Duffin and Paul Leary was held at the special historic location of Mount St Bernard Abbey.

Edible Forest Breakfast

Wednesday 12th & Saturday 15th September 2018

Build up an appetite with a ranger-led tour around Bradgate Park where you will learn all about the edible produce that can be found within the park and then you will end the walk by tucking in to a well-deserved, hearty breakfast made up of tasty local produce!

Tea in the Tower

Friday 14th, Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th September

We’ve combined two of our favourite things for you to enjoy! Afternoon tea, made with love by the team at Grey Lady Deli and the local iconic landmark, Old John Tower at Bradgate Park. Enjoy a tasty afternoon tea from inside Old John Tower and take in the magnificent views of Bradgate Park.
