Celebrating the produce and producers of Charnwood Forest

Friday 16th to Sunday 18th September 2016

We are so pleased that after an amazing weekend the first ever Edible Forest Festival has proven to be very popular, and we are highly grateful for the fantastic feedback that we have received from those that came along to the events throughout the weekend.

Watch this space for information on next year's festival!

Throughout the festival...

Quorn Bacon Rolls Day

The air in Quorn was full of the delicious aroma of bacon, onions, herbs and suet pastry as contestants descended on Odd John’s Kitchen clutching their lovingly prepared Quorn bacon rolls.

Sourdough Bread Session

Ian Waterland, from Knead Good Bread Artisan Bakery, hosted a special sourdough session at Loughborough College promoting the benefits of sourdough.

Tea in the Tower

This rare opportunity to experience a traditional afternoon tea, supplied by The Grey Lady, was enjoyed by all that came along to Old John Tower, located in Bradgate Park.

Cocktails and Canapes

Cocktails and Canapes

This great night out in The Outwoods featured cocktails, canapes and live music, creating a relaxed 'festival' atmosphere.

Apple Pressing Demonstration

Apple pressing

Charnwood Cider gave a brilliant demonstration on apple pressing together with a tasting of the fresh juice and cider which is made from it.

The Enchanted Forest

Enchanted Forest

Everyone enjoyed the local food, circus acts, dancing, storytelling in the forest and activities that took place throughout the afternoon and evening.

The Secret Gourmet

Our secret gourmet chef, Paul Leary, prepared a range of tasty dishes for guests to Nanpantan Hall making a stunning gourmet dining experience.

Our Sunday Tea in the Tower event was another hit as guests had a further opportunity to take afternoon tea in Old John Tower.
