Visit Loughborough and Charnwood Forest

Loughborough offers the warmest of welcomes and is an excellent loccation for shopping, eating and exploring the area's rich cultural heritage including the Great Central Railway and the famous Bell Foundry.  

Charnwood Museum

Further afield in Charnwood you'll find the second highest point in Leicestershire at Beacon Hill Country Park.  Climb up to the summit and on a clear day you'll see perfect views of Loughborough and views of several counties.  At Bradgate Park you'll find the ruins of Bradgate House the childhood home of Lady Jane Grey, who was Queen of England for just nine days.

Visitor attractions in the borough include Great Central Railway, the UK's only mainline main line heritage railway, Stoneywell - a recently opened National Trust property that is a rare surviving example of an Arts and Crafts property, Stonehurst Family Farm where children can collect eggs, cuddle rabbits and goats and ride on a tractor.
