Loogabarooga Festival - 18 - 24 October 2017
The Loogabarooga Festival of Incredible Illustrations and Brilliant Books will be back once again in Loughborough during half term in October 2017.
Details will be posted here as plans are agreed.
The 2016 Loogabarooga Festival took place in October. It was the second year that this exciting event for families who love books and illustrated literature has taken place.
The 2016 Festival featured ‘incredible illustrations and brilliant books’, and showcased new and existing illustrated children’s literature.
The programme included free creative drop-in workshops, storytelling sessions, advice on how to write and illustrate your own book, appearances from some of the nation’s favourite children’s authors and illustrators and lots more.
A series of unique, hand-made benches are again located around the town centre during the Festival and until early November.
Here are some of the highlights at this year's Festival:
New Book Bench for 2016 - Rumplestiltskin
Ashleigh went to the Purple Pumpkin Patch glow bug workshop and is here proudly showing her creation.
Samuel Jackson won the competition being run by GEM 106. Part of his prize was a Kindle and here he is receiving his prize. He also enjoyed the Boy. Wizard. Hero. event held at Loughborough Town Hall and afterwards queued up with lots of others to get a Harry Potter stamped poster and bookmark.
