Explore the heritage of North West Leicestershire

North West Leicestershire has a fascinating past, come and explore the heritage of this area which includes the ruins of Ashby Castle and Grace Dieu Priory and medieval 1620s House and Gardens and quirky lock-ups in the district.

The industrial heritage of this part of the county is told through exhibitions at the many independent museums, and local churches tell many tales about local social history, so come and visit and delve into the history of the area.

Hello Heritage is being held over two weeks from 1st until 16th September 2018 throughout North West Leicestershire and South Derbyshire. After launching a successful Hello Heritage pilot in 2017, North West Leicestershire Distict Council are very pleased to launch the dates for the festival to take place again in 2018.

Ashby de la Zouch Castle

Visitors can climb the tower today despite it suffering massive damage during the Civil War. There are great views from the top! Then make sure you discover the underground passage from the kitchen to the tower.
