Moira Furnace provides visitors with a unique insight into the industrial heritage of the area and is probably one of the most important blast furnaces still in existence today throughout Europe. Donington le Heath Manor House is one of the oldest houses in Leicestershire and was built in around 1290.  Visitors to the 1620s House and Garden can now see the beautifully restored period rooms and talk to volunteers about the history of the house, the families that lived here and about life in the 1620s.

If you're interested in transport, why not visit the East Midlands Aero Park which is both an aviation museum and a viewing area where you can see preserved planes of yesteryear and watch modern airliners of today taking-off and landing at East Midlands Airport. Nearby you'll also find world famous Donington Park where you can see some of the greatest cars in history at the Donington Grand Prix Collection and there's lots of race days that take place at Donington Park itself.
